This Week's Assignment Sheet

The above link is to the assignment sheet for this week. Students, download it and print it. Parents, if your student will be absent, you can check this link to find out the assignments for every day this week. Also, students, don't forget that new monthly plans and grade sheets have been posted too. Download the one for your class today when you download your assignment sheet. Print these sheets and put them in your notebook.

Parents, please review grades on your student's grade sheet or on the Internet every Wednesday and then sign the grade sheet. If your student is not keeping his grades up-to-the-minute on his grade sheet, check the Internet and write a note on the grade sheet that you did so.

Below are previous assignment sheets. Also, there are posts below this one with some of the documents I use to plan my classes. Feel free to print them. They are all Word documents (.doc). The heading above will always be a link to the most current assignment sheet.

Welcome Back!

Welcome back to returning TRA students or just plain welcome to our new students. If you check all the links below, you can see the kinds of things we did last year. This may be a new school facility and a new name, but we intend to carry on the good things that Taylor Road Academy used to do.

Check this space for monthly plans (grade sheets), weekly plans (homework sheets), my annual plan, and any other information you can use to be super successful this year.

Here we go loading the stuff up! This year, all files will be pdf's. Most computers can read pdf's without any added software. However, if your computer will not display a pdf, it will surely give you a button to click to download a pdf reader. This is normal. Go ahead and click the button. If you cannot read a pdf and cannot download a pdf reader, ask me for more help.

Here is the first download. Parents and students probably won't care much about it, but it is the annual plans for the courses I will be teaching: Pacing Chart

Below will be the files that you will want to download to keep in your notebook.

Projects are due Wednesday!

The title of this post is also a link to a copy of the project description. If you lost yours or need another one, you can click that link and print a copy.

Remember, you must meet every criteria, the project is due Wednesday, and will not be accepted after Friday.

Get your notebooks in shape!

Sometime before the Christmas break, I will check your notebook. It counts as a test grade! If you don't know what your notebook should look like, click the title of this post. A Word document will open. Print it. It is the precise checklist I will use to grade your notebook. Put it in your notebook and use it as a guide for setting your notebook up.

Take this opportunity for an easy 100 test grade.

You'll get another opportunity when semester projects are assigned. It'll either be a poster, a web page, or a PowerPoint presentation on three mathematicians who are linked in some way. Think about who you will choose. Don't lock in on dead white guys. There are a lot of other mathematicians.

Routines Are Kicking in!

Students,

We are well into the school year. Our classroom procedures should be becoming routines. Make sure that you know all of the procedures and rules. Also, ensure that your notebook is up to the minute. If you don't have them already, print out these handouts, punch holes in them, and place them in your notebook. Oh, and, read them.

New students: Print this one also. Fill it out and bring it in tomorrow: Student Information Sheet. Thanks.

This probably means more to Ms. B. than to parents and students, but here is this year's annual plan.
